About Sam…

Sam & Charlie NBHA PA State Finals 2008

Sam grew up in Pennsylvania, quickly becoming an avid horsewoman. She took riding lessons, and bought her first horse at age 16. For years, she was accomplished in barrel racing. After realizing horses were her passion, she decided to attend college at Colorado State University and complete her Bachelor of Science degree in Equine Science.

After a few years gaining experience in the workforce, she was offered a job as a wrangler at Vista Verde Guest Ranch in Clark, Colorado. Sam was able to earn the title of Head Wrangler, and responsible for the care of a herd of over 100. After the 3 years caring for the herd, she realized proper saddle fit was essential for these hard working guest ranch horses.

In her teenage years, she was able to learn from Terry Peiper, of Fit Right Saddle Solutions. While in college, she would return to Pennsylvania to visit and spend time with Terry. The more she learned, the more passionate she became about proper saddle fit. In the fall of 2016, she decided to pursue her love of helping horses with saddle fit, and start her own business.

Sam & Jlo Fall 2015 at Vista Verde Guest Ranch, Clark, Colorado

Sam received her certification as an Equine Ergonomist in May of 2017 from Saddle Fit 4 Life. She also became an authorized representative for TW Saddlery & Specialized Saddles. As a result, Sam’s Saddle Solutions was created and still going strong today.

Sam travels most of the time to accommodate clients and their horses. She travels to the Front Range (Denver, Parker, Loveland, Fort Collins, etc., as well as some parts of Southern Wyoming (see Services page for full travel radius information).

The horses at Vista Verde Guest Ranch were an integral part of Sam realizing saddle fit was important. There are a few other personal horses that have contributed to the learning process as well. Don’t be afraid to learn as much as you can - proper saddle fit is so important for the horse’s health and longevity. Thanks for reading!! See you out there and happy trails!!
